Adelaide Finale PART 1
HEYYYYYY how is everyone!? Hope your all having an amazing Monday, because lets face it, Mondays are notorious for being a bitch of a day!
Im currently sitting by the wood fire, enjoying a nice glass of red (just one!) and reading so many awesome achievements on our facebook page from our SA Crew members! You guys are amazing!
So if you lived under a rock, we kinda made some noise in Adelaide on Saturday! We all kinda rocked! Because it was a BIG DAY, I have to break the post up into two posts because, well it was that epic! The day for me started at 530am, pick up at 630am by the awesome Guns Ninja and we set to Adelaide Showgrounds with Coffee on the brain... Coffee was definitely needed!
We arrived and was greeted with this:
Could it get any better - you betcha it can!!
Drinking our coffees, we set off to find the entrance!
`
Oh there it is!
Going in - you cannot miss the HUGE Mish sign! LOVE IT!
How awesome is that sign!
As both Guns Ninja and I are sporting some awesome injuries (between the two of us, we dont have a working body at all) - we volunteered! I was assigned Team Leader to a group of amazing SA girls I have had the privileged to know for quite a long time. Team Leader was just a title but these girls didnt need one! We rocked the Feedback Wall - we got out there and mingled with the crowd with post its and sharpies!
We had a ball, got to meet so many new faces and gathered a stack of feedback for the 12wbt crew!
As the morning went on, there were fitness challenges done - Mini Me Ninja blitzed her heat and ended up in the final fitness challenge on stage! Such an amazing determined woman right there! So very proud of her!
LOVE IT!
First up was the Fitness Challenge Final Heat where Mini Me Ninja got to meet Mish and than do her thing on the stage! She simply BLEW ME AWAY! So much strength, determination and all round awesomeness in this girl!
Although she didnt win, she is still our winner! We love you to bits Mini Me Ninja! Keep fighting!
Than it was time for the big workout where everyone got sweaty! We sat on the sidelines cheering everyone on, taking photos and having some lunch (it wasnt chicken, it was turkey!)
AND THAN (just when you thought I might be done - seriously this is why its broken up into parts!) we finally got to have our group shot! LOOK AT THE SA CREW!! THIS WASNT ALL OF US!!!
WOW WOW WOW!!!
To finish this part off, Im gonna leave you with some photos of some amazing women who I have had the absolute privileged of being allowed to be part of their lives. I want to shed some spotlight on them, because they all deserve to share the spotlight! No one is better than anyone! We are all awesome!
NEVER let anyone dull your shine or sparkle!
If you have photos you want me to share on my blog - let me know! I want everyone on here celebrating their achievements and being PROUD of what they accomplished! Its not a competition at all - you are all winners to me!
See you soon with Part 2 (Ill try have up by the weekend, Uni pending!)

Random facts and 25 things happy people do!
So this week, uni started. My excitement to some is considered somewhat woeful - who gets excited to study? Please tell me Im not the only one. Im a nerd. Im stoked! It does mean long hours and not going to bed at a decent time, but thats what happens if I want to fit more in my day and live in the country (which I wont trade for anyone!). Im up at the crack of dawn, on my way to the bus at 630, at my desk at work at 730, go home at 4, go to gym or exercise, cook tea and than study! But
This semester my brain will turn to mush studying Anatomy and Physiology and Introduction to Psychology Expect random facts over the next few months! For example - when you see "itis" - this means inflammation - so appendicitis is an inflammation of the appendix!
See, they say you learn something everyday right..... your welcome! :P
Flashcards - need to get me some of these! Im a visual learner and I think the only way Ill remember the anatomy and physiology stuff is by going back to primary school learning! Sorry random thought!
Any ho, Ive read a number of things this week besides textbooks and uni stuff. Yes, Im one of those people. One of those people who if they arent on a pc working, I have my nose in a book or reading articles. Some has been rather hilarious but some have been a bit D&M and for a Wednesday, thats heavy. Hubby ninja sent me a news link today which he thought Id be interested in. It was written by a new to me blogger (who I am now following) called Shannon Kaiser entitled "Play with the World". She talks about her past and how since her transformation from a mental standpoint, she believes she is happier, fulfilled and really enjoys life. She attributes that to surrounding herself with happy, successful people and mimicking their behaviors and habits. She created a list of called "The 25 things happy people do differently" and she uses this list when she feels herself out of "alignment" and this helps her back on track.
The list goes like this:

The list goes like this:
1. Stop worrying, if it is supposed to happen it will.
2. Allow yourself to be a beginner. No one starts off being excellent.
3. Don't let your happiness depend on anything outside of yourself.
4. Stay close to everything that makes you feel alive.
5. Listen to your body, it will lead you to unlimited health.
6. Surround yourself with people who see your greatness.
7. Make peace with your past.
8. See all setbacks as growth and expansive opportunities.
9. Comparing yourself to others will hurt your health and steal your joy.
10. Don't give up, EVER.
11. You always have a choice.
12. Stop chasing what’s not working.
13. Believe wholeheartedly in miracles.
14. Don't postpone joy.
15. Trust the universe, there is a plan greater than yours.
16. Wake up every morning with a grateful heart.
17. Remember things take time.
18. Always trust your gut.
19. No need to change people; just love them for who they are.
20. Don't resist change.
21. Forgive yourself.
22. Your life is a creative adventure.
23. Release expectations and enjoy the journey, there is no destination.
24. Just do you.
25. You're not broken or damaged. You are perfect just the way you are.
A-MAZING right!?
Im totally putting this in my diary as a reminder! Its all so very very true and I think we definitely can all learn to do these things! I love each and every one of them! Its about remembering to be patient and kind to YOURSELF. Remember, there is only one of you and your worth every single precious moment! Its not worth beating yourself up over the tiny things because in the grand scheme of things, is it going to matter tomorrow?
On a side note, check out these awesome SA Crew members on the 12wbt blog! These are just a few of the many to be shown leading up to finale in RADelaide! Part 2 should be on the 12wbt blog today! These woman are truly amazing and are some of our home grown unsung heroes! They may not post regularly in the forums or on facebook but do truly deserve all the recognition for their hardwork, determination and amazing mind and body achievements! So proud of each and everyone of them!
What I love about these women (and many others) is that they show the true meaning of what the 12wbt is about! Some people think a program like this is all about the bikini ready body - which hey, thats cool if you want that aim for that - however 12wbt is not just about that, its so much more! Its not just about the 6 pack or ripped body - its about real woman and men making REAL LIFE CHANGING journeys. Its about real life achievements and real life body transformations (inside and out). Its taking old habits and ditching that shit out the window! Its about REAL FOOD and not shakes. Its how we are all meant to live. Its about health inside and out! These women show this in so many ways and Im so grateful to know each and everyone of them!
Rock on and remember to look in that mirror and say HEY YOU, YOU ARE AWESOME! and BELIEVE it!
Have an awesome day ninjas!

A song to boost your Mojo
I honestly believe in the power of music. If Im having a day where my mojo is low, I listen to some music, its an instant kick me in the bum. It motivates me to get out and just do! Im not sure if this is because in my past I was a dancer (jazz and ballet, not pole dancer, get your mind outta the gutter!). Ive always been someone who really pays attention to the lyrics not just the beat of the tune. I find songs that truely resonate with me and they are ones that are frequently in my playlist. Another day, Ill do a post about songs on my playlist but today, I want to re-share a song which still to this day, makes me want to get up and dance, ride or turn up loud in the car on the way to the gym. I truely believe the words say so much not just to me but to everyone on any sort of journey!
This song was originally sung by A Great Big World. I heard it watching Glee (yes I love glee, dont judge!) and its the version I have on my playlist which I want to share with you! Ive added the lyrics below again as well so you can see what I mean regarding the true meaning of the song.

Another year you made a promise
Another chance to turn it all around
And do not save this for tomorrow
Embrace the past and you can live for now
And I will give the world to you
Speak louder than the words before you
And give them meaning no one else has found
The role we play is so important
We are the voices of the underground
And I will give the world to you
Say everything you've always wanted
Be not afraid of who you really are
'Cause in the end we have each other
And that's at least one thing worth living for
And I will give the world to you
A million suns that shine upon me
A million eyes you are the brightest blue
Let's tear the walls down that divide us
And build a statue strong enough for two
I pass it back to you
And I will wait for you
'Cause I would give the world
And I would give the world
And I would give the world to you
This is the new year
A new beginning
You made a promise
You are the brightest
We are the voices
This is the new year
We are the voices
This is the new year
Now dont lie, even if you dont like glee, you totally just got up and wanted to rock out hey!?
Go get em Ninjas! Have a smashing weekend!

Verbal beat up -Are you guilty as charged!?
Source: http://www.sebastienmillon.com/ |
If I said to you,
Omg becky, you have a huge butt and your so fat I cant look at you anymore? Your so lazy, you need to go on a shake diet and get your arse in the gym for 12 hours a day. Fix that shit up already!! Jezz!
Tell me, what is you first reaction, besides hurt, going to be? Your gonna wanna punch me in the face, right?! ( I know I would!). Your gonna want to defend yourself and tell me to go stick my head where the sun dont shine, right!? You instantly going to think, damn that Sensai, she is a fkn bitch.(Ps if you have friends who tell you this or are downright negative and cruel, you need to grow some balls and get rid of these people from your life - you dont need toxic people like this in your life, your better than that).
So if you dont like people saying this to you because its hurtful, negative and makes you feel like crap, than why are you talking to yourself this way??
Think about that for a second!
Another thing Ive noticed of late on the 12wbt pages (facebook, forums etc) is people verbally beating themselves up and feeling guilty for doing something they think they should/shouldnt have (eg missed a gym sesh because life happened!) or the preverbial falling off the wagon (oh no I had some chocolate *insert verbal self beating* - **side note - holy crap, that means Im always falling off! haha). Ive actually read people are not coming to finale because they feel they dont deserve it!? WHHATT!!?
Okay so your round didnt go so well. Shit happens, your human!! Im no angel either ya know (remember Im ninja haha), Ive had times throughout the round where I havent had the best weeks with food and exercise (moving and last minute uni assignments can do that - thats real life!) but I did my best with what I had and made the best decisions I had at my disposal. Anyways, lets look at this from another angle for a second and put a few things in perspective. Since the beginning of this round or any round for that matter (some of us have been doing this for 12 months), you may not have reached the goal weight you dreamed of due to "life" however:
- Your fitter
- Your happier
- Your body is singing better due to better food choices (regardless of that chocolate or occasional trea)
- You walk with more confidence
- You are reducing your risks for life threatening problems
- You know right from wrong
- You can pick yourself up and dust yourself off
- You know a treat is exactly that and not an always food!
When you do this verbal beating, I want you to do me a favor. I want you to first STOP IT firstly and than really remember how far you have come. If you need a reminder of how much weight you truely have lost, I dare you to go to your gym (actual or home, where ever you have some weights) and I want you to go lift what you have lost. Do it. Lift it, try and hold it whilst looking at yourself in the mirror. Now smile! Look yourself and say - I AM AWESOME! LOOK AT ME GO! Rinse and repeat! :P
That sometimes is the simple motivation and reminder about how far you have come. YOU USE TO CARRY THIS DISTRIBUTED all over your body. YOUR A ROCKSTAR! YOU LOST IT and you now have learnt the skills to keep that off!
And everytime you go to beat yourself up, I want you to remember that moment in front of the mirror with the weights and say to yourself, No I AM BETTER, I AM AWESOME! because you truely, amazingly are!
Morning Mantra when getting ready for work, school, etc, I want you to look in that mirror and not say, does my arse look fat in this? I want you to say - HEY HOT STUFF! Your looking awesome!
I wont lie, it will feel silly saying it for the first few times but over time, you will believe it. Your mind is powerful but its only the way it is because of the way you have trained it. Train it like you train your other muscles.
I heard a quote once, it was - If you fail, remember, its an entry point for learning and NOT a validation that your not good enough.
On that note, I am outta here! I hope you all have a fantastic day!
