A wise women said....

So today has been a typical day really. Nothing over interesting really to report except Im still sore from my anger run the other day. Better get use to it, I just signed up for the 5km Dolphin Run with Phantom Ninja and a few of the other 12wbt ninjas on the 3rd February 2013. This could be interesting. I have not trained and I have not really ran (well besides my anger run) since I got my orthotics last year. Why? I hear you ask... well to be perfectly honest, I am kinda freaked out about it.

I know, I know, Im a ninja, Im meant to be fearless but right now its one of my walls. Its self imposed but with good reason (well I think it is anyways!)

Back at the end of 2010, I was around 90kg. I had never been someone to do any running, I was always the slowest in group PT when we had to do it, I could barely do 200m without wanting to die and if someone gave me the choice to run or to walk, Id walk. I was a big girl and at this time in my life, I was lost on the belief that I just "couldn't" do it. I was stuck on that mentality that because it hurt to much, I just believed I couldnt do it.

I had always contemplated doing city to bay but that is where it started and ended. It was always just a thought. Never an action.

At the beginning of 2011, I finally had the determination. I decided that I was going to sign up and I thought, you know what, even if I walk some of it, Im gonna participate! I cant remember exactly where the motivation came from but I also voiced my determination in one of my group PT classes. A good friend in this group PT, Dan, (who by the way was a machine when it came to running) said he would do it with me  as he had never done it and he wanted to give it a go! So we had a plan and we started training together.

Unfortunately in June that year, we lost Dan. He unfortunately was taken way to soon in a car accident. Rest in Peace buddy.

I was broken, Im not gonna lie. He was a good friend, I had known him for years and going to the gym and training became hard. I saw him in everything we did at the gym and my running training was not easy. I missed his jokes and the way he made it fun. It was than however I vowed I would do the damn run and I would finish it for him!

I pushed myself into training and my very first mistake was not listening to my body. So many experienced runners with always say, if its an ache its normal, if it stabs, ease up or stop. I got the stab but didnt stop. I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH, LISTEN TO YOUR BODY.

I over trained and I ended up with an injury that I now have for life. That injury is bursitis in the left hip. (Click here for more info --->http://www.betterhealth.vic.gov.au/bhcv2/bhcarticles.nsf/pages/Bursitis). If you have never heard of it, let me just say its painful. What actually finally stopped me training was when I was literally limping and just walking was unbearable and sitting was no longer pain free.

This injury took me out of training for 5 weeks leading up to City to Bay. I was told by the Physio, Remedial Massage Therapist and Dr that I was crazy to do it but if I still contemplated running City to Bay, I had to REST. I cried. I had gone from someone who HATED running to someone who couldnt wait to get out there. My determination however was still strong. I had to do the run for Dan. Those five weeks felt like eternity. I was not allowed to do anything. I had become a gym junkie and my frustration was at an all time high.

I did my therapy and did as I was told however I did run City to Bay that year. I ran a good amount of it by the time I hit the 10km mark, the stabbing started again and I had to walk the rest of the way (I did push through the stabbing for the last 500m because I refused to walk over the finish line with a finish time of 1hr 33mins). I limbed for weeks later but I had promised Id do it for him and I did.

Fast forward to 2012, I decided I was gonna do it again but this time for me and I was going to beat my time. I had been doing well with my physical therapy and wanted to get back into it. I did a few small races (5km) without to many issues and decided I would start to train 12 weeks out from City to Bay. I paid my entrance and was determined to succeed. 4 weeks in, my hip flared and this time I listened. I stopped.

I started Chiro and than my personal trainer recommended going to a podiatrist. Was the best thing I ever did. They were able to determine why I was constantly having hips flare up and said that I definately needed orthotics BUT I had to give up on doing City to Bay. If I did it again without them, I would end up messing up my knee (I was having pain start in it and it clicks when I do squats!). So for once, I did as I was told. I gave up due to medical advice.

Once again I suffered the frustration of not being able to train to full capacity. RPM was my saviour and my brilliant personal trainer created workouts to help strengthen my hip. I got my orthotics and have been training in them since. I was told by the podiatrist to ease into running. Im still needing to ease into it.

There is a fear there now when it comes to running. Its a fear of the pain returning, its the fear of it taking me out for weeks on end again, but its the fear that it will make me fail.

Ive had all this going through my head for WEEKS. Today, I was listening to Jillian's podcasts and this particular podcast finally hit home (see I told you she was a smart one!). She was talking about failing and she said:

"If you do fail, remember, its an entry point for learning and not a validation that your not good enough"

and than she asked the listeners to ask themselves:

"Where are you selling yourself short and why?"

Wise wise woman!

I wrote it down straight away. Its in my diary, its on my pin up board at work. I am using it as my mantra. If my anger run taught me anything, its that I can do it.

So when I was asked if I want to do Dolphin Run, I thought, do it! Sign up and do it! Its the kick in the butt I needed. So Im doing it. It might also be time to work on that 5am for 21 days goal for training....

So tell me, do you have a fear? What is it and are you selling yourself short of achieving it?

Soggy Keyboard...

Okay so Im kinda excited! Like "jumping up and down like a child" excited! If you havent heard by now, Im sure you have to be living under a rock! Jillian Michaels is back on Biggest Loser USA and boy is she BACK.

I sat and watched the episode last night and was grinning from ear to ear. I love her no bullsh!t approach and the way she really digs deep. She doesnt sugar coat it, its the truth and if you dont like it, she kicks you out!

I wont delve into to much of the show because I know some havent watched it yet but wowzers people! She packs a punch and I think that this season is gonna be super awesome. Oh and if she aint enough for you, seriously you gotta watch it for the eye candy of Bob Harper and Dolvett...I literally nearly drooled on my keyboard as I watched on my PC!

See! I told you!

Now wipe your chin.... :P

Ive been a huge Jillian Michaels fan for a very long time. Like I said above, her no bullsh!t approach gets me everytime and this woman is SMART! She doesnt mince words, she tells you how to is and where to find the info if you wanna know. My weightloss journey began because of her and her first book "Winning by Losing" and from there, the passion grew for knowledge. I have all her books now, I listen to her podcasts all the time and its because it just makes sense. Its well researched and doesnt have all the fluff and bullsh!t some fitness books have.

You are probably sitting there scratching you head going...wait up Sensai, what about Michelle Bridges? Dont you worry, she is also an idol of mine. A girl can have more than one! I have all her books too, have been a  member of her site prior to her even starting 12wbt. She to is fantastic, I love her on Biggest Loser Australia, I prefer her over any of the other trainers on the Australian version but she is a softer version of JM. She is the good cop. JM is the bad cop. Its ying and yang.

So

After yesterdays roller coaster dip, I thought, you know what, a Lorna trip is needed....well it was kinda planned but Im glad I did because I needed it today. I meet nerdy ninja at our closest LJ before we headed to eat lunch and we had a good gander. I may of purchased more things.... Told you, Im in capable of walking out empty handed.

Today's otherwise has been a good day and walking everywhere was my exercise...oh and spraining my ankle in the mall. Its the first time since getting my orthotics that Ive actually twisted it! By golly it hurt! So Ive now got a golf shoulder and a sore ankle! It aint stopping me though.

Did my WWW (Wee Weigh Wednesday!) and Ive lost 600g! Hopefully Im back on the downward slope. Better be or the scales are getting the ninja chop! Measurements also done and Ive lost another 6.5cm all over. Ill take it!

Hope you all had a good day! Those that are doing 12wbt, how did your WWW go?

PS - Had to share, it cracked me up!

Like a duck... (WARNING: Serious post ahead!)

I was thinking today what to write tonight so I did not bore you with my boring life but honestly who am I kidding. My life is like a fricken roller coaster and just when I think Im on a nice path, smelling the roses (fkn hate that flower btw), something crops up and generally its one person who does it. Without you actually knowing me, I wont delve into it on here. Id be giving war and peace a run for its money. Lets just say this person is who gave birth to me and really thats where the connection ends.

Said person is throwing shit at a fan and trying to meddle by trying to put a few people in the middle. Namely a child. One thing to piss me off quicker is an individual who does this. Children are innocent and do not need to be used to manipulate a situation for an adults benefit. Said individual has been doing this for years. Its always to manipulate someone or get something. Its wrong.

Any who, prior to getting home tonight, I was honestly was ready to just blow off a workout. Yes, I was thinking about it and thought that maybe I just needed to go to bed early and sleep (the heat is sapping me dry). Than I got told some info and it just really spiked me to lace up my sneakers and run. Run until I couldnt think anymore, run until the anger dissipated, run so I didnt cry. They dont deserve my tears.

Its funny how say over a year ago, when a situation like this would cropped up, in particular with this person, the first place I would do is run....straight to the fridge/cupboard. I was an emotional eater. I ate when I was down, I ate when I was stressed, I ate when I was angry, I ate when I was frustrated....I didnt stop either and I ate mindlessly. Its how I ended up being over 100kg. I would eat anything and everything. I was a mess.

Its funny to, the other day I was thinking, everyone has had the "Ah huh" moment, when do I get mine....I think I got one today when I stopped at the lake to take a breathier and just take in everything around me. Ive had my Uh Huh Moment back five years ago when I made the decision to cut her out of my life completely and change it all around. When this happened, I made a vow that I would never be like her. I will not rely on others to do my bidding, I will be a fighter. I was always a fighter, I was never someone to take the easy road. I work hard to be where I am but what drives me now is that vow. I wanted to be healthy, I didnt want to lifestyle she had (smoking, drinking, relying on pills to rid the pain...) and most of all, I dont want to be anything like her. Her life disgusts me.

I know I have a long way to go  but I think in 5 years I have come a damn long way and I refuse to let anyone take that away from me. I am proud of what Ive achieved and I have more dreams to conquer.

So whilst sitting on the lake, I watched these guys:

And out of all the ducks (there were many), this little ninja duck came up close to me:

He stood on the rock and he shook the water off and that's when I got the message. I too, need to be like that ninja duck. I need to shake it off. Let it roll off and let it go. Its not worth the stress, its not worth the anger. By sinking down and letting it affect me, Im reducing to that level which I vowed I would never allow.

After my moment, I picked myself up off the bridge and put my music back in to run home (into the wind may I add, Im a fighter, I dont give up!). The next song that started was "Are we all we are" by P!nk and honestly, it couldnt have been more fitting to that moment and how I felt, especially this part:

"Four, that's how many years it took me to get through the lesson
That I had to do it all on my own
Three, that how many hail mary's they would pray for me
Thinkin I was gonna end up all alone
Two for second chance that you've given me,
Can it be, lucky me, lucky me, now lets go
One, its what we are, its what we are
All we all we are
All we all we are"

Tell me, when was your "ahh huh" moment and what was it?

Weekend of fun and grossness....

Right, Ill start by apologising. I havent blogged because simply, Ive not been near an actual computer all weekend (except my tablet but if anyone has tried to blog from one of those, dear lorna, it takes forever and I dont have anything small to say after the weekend Ive had!)

So pull yourself up, hope you have your ice coffees ready (if your drinking hot coffee, seriously dude - have you seen the weather?) and be prepared for a few giggles!

Friday - really not very eventful. Consisted of me bitching and moaning about the weather and me meltiiinnnggg. Some idiot clearly tinkered with mother natures thermostat and broke it. Obviously Mother Nature doesnt get special treatment either from the tradies in the heat either because I think its still broken coz we are gonna hit another 40 degree celsius today. The only summer heat I like is the one in Thailand and I think thats coz there is a pool and cocktails....cheap cocktails...and no stupid people annoying me.

Saturday started out fairly tame. Hubby ninja had to help father ninja do some stuff at father ninjas workshop, which meant that my morning workout was not going to be a long one. I whipped out 309calories doing a Jillian Michaels DVD, covered head to toe in sweat. My arse is still kinda sore...or maybe that was the hills I walked up yesterday....I digress. Any who, Saturdays photo a day was exercise equipment, so here ya go:

After said exercise was complete, I hopped into the shower and got dressed in Lorna (I really dont think I have anything put this in my wardrobe....). As always, I accessorized as well and became a walking advertisement:

So off we went to father ninja's workshop. I left the men there and headed to only the best place on earth, Heavens Gates at West Lakes (ohh Im a poet and didnt know it!):

Purchases were made (I cant walk in and walk out with zip, it never happens so dont even think it will happen). Following were purchased:

Clearly not to be worn together!

Oh and I picked up these beauties:

GET EXCITED!! WOHOO!

So far weekend fairly uneventful I hear you say....well its just heating up...

Once Id finished shopping at heaven, I went back to father ninja's workshop to get the men to go home to collect ninja dog and make out way to the in-laws...

Now before I go into the next 24 hours, I must tell you some info regarding the in-laws so that you understand where my poor attempt at sarcasm comes from. Hubby ninjas parents are separated (as are mine, however you wont hear me talk about manipulative liar aka my mother (she doesnt deserve ninja status) because I dont talk to her). We will refer to the his mother and step father as MIL Ninja and FIL1 Ninja. His Father and his partner, I doubt will hardly get a mention, but if he does, its FIL2.

MIL Ninja and FIL1 Ninja live on a farm. With lots and lots of land. Its peaceful (generally) which is why hubby ninja and I venture there frequently. We need to escape the concrete jungle we live in at the moment. They have lots and lots of alpacas (over 100). Gorgeous peaceful creatures UNLESS they are pregnant and you get to close. Than you can except to be slagged on. Its not pretty and leaves you wondering how you thought they were cute!

MIL is retired, FIL1 is semi retired. MIL and FIL1 like a bit to drink which proves sometimes to be entertaining. FIL1 has been told by the doctor that for two months he is not one drop of drink. This could prove to be rather interesting, stay tuned for stories. Now, one would say okay, they are retired, they are pensioners so they need to be fregal with money. No, thats not the case. They have plenty, MIL has been retired completely for 9 months, they havent had to touch their super yet and there are no plans for them to start touching it anytime soon. Money is not an issue HOWEVER the way they live, you would think they live on the bones of their arses.

MIL always buys non-branded foods (no big deal, I do sometimes to) however quality is definitely not a priority of quantity. When we go up to the farm, I have to grit my teeth and be all polite about whats being offered. There is no free range eggs (she buys the cheapest nastiest eggs because well, they are cheap), the milk is not organic (its UHT - blurg), any meat consumed is generally not organic or free range (it what was cheap at the supermarket) and generally everything gets put in the freezer. She is very old school when it comes to "losing weight" eg no fat in things, no sugar (uses sweetners which after my constant nagging, she is actually starting to change over to stevia....this has only taken over a year mind you). Veg is about the only thing that is organic (or fish they have caught when they have gone away in the caravan) because she grows it , however what ever is in the garden, it gets put in EVERYTHING. I now cant stand eggplant because when we lived with them back 6 years ago for three months, eggplant was in EVERYTHING. Just the thought of eggplant makes me gag. MIL cooking is sometimes much to be desired. She substitutes things with things NOT EVEN similar in a recipe which than ends up with a meal that is generally gag worthy. You eat with a napkin...if you dont, you swallow and try and imagine its the best meal you have ever had.

FIL1 has his idiosyncrasies. He is a man who is always right (even if he is wrong). Its pointless trying to argue with him regarding organic and non organic, free range and non free range etc. You give up because you cant reason with him. Does my head in most times. I tend to not raise the subject with him because he infuriates me. Poor hubby ninja normally gets a massive bitch fest on the way home of all the things he has done that has infuriated me over the stay. FIL1 has previously had throat cancer and tends to have trouble eating because of it (his body doesnt create enough saliva etc). FIL1 is generally an okay cook but sometimes has a little to much adventure with what he is cooking which can end up in some gag worthy moments. FIL1 doesnt understand the term in moderation, so if he cooks, smaller portions are best.

Needless to say, both of them dont lead the healthiest lifestyles and they live frugally. Very frugally. HOWEVER I must say, they are lovely people, they just have and do things I dont agree with. Mostly however their hearts are in the right place. Most of the time. I love MIL to death and FIL1, although drives me around the bend, I always have time for him. They mean well and I can have a laugh with them. This is the main thing.

OH the dog. They say dogs are like their owners....They only have to see Corgie to agree.

So back to Saturday. We drive up there and get there around 630pm. Instantly its quiet (can only hear the birds) and SOOO much cooler that I actually have to go looking for a jacket. I am already dreading whats for dinner. Thank Lorna, they have decided to make home made pizzas. Actually was rather tasty and pretty healthy. Thats the one thing about coming to the farm, I can pretty much guarantee although the food isnt organic or free range, there aint gonna be anything fattening or high in sugar about it.

Alcohol was consumed (red wine for me) and it was apparent that this wasnt MIL first one. MIL tells me she has already prepared breakfast and its frozen in the freezer (im not surprised). She has made waffles and than gets all excited as she rummages in the cupboard to produce REAL maple syrup for me. She said she specially bought for me coz she knows I dont like her "slimming" one (sweetner laden cancer loaded maple flavoured nothing nutritious about it)...Bless her cotton holey socks. This makes me smile. She actually made the effort to put  a smile on my dial. I love her.

After tea, we went outside to hit some golf balls into the paddocks which ends up with me generally creating holes in the lawn. I'm not the next Ms Tiger Woods but I do manage to eventually hit some balls. Not far. I become Queen Champion of the Veggie Patch (this is generally how far my balls went, so maybe 10 meters!). I should add this to my list, Im gonna learn to hit a golf ball correctly and get a killer swing. Hubby ninja hits them like a pro. Im in awe.

Banter happens (as it always does when they have a few under their belt and we are sober) and by 945pm we are heading to bed. Its been a long day. Sleep - oh I slept. It was cool and quiet. How I miss the country!

Saturday morning I wake, get up and have the waffles which are now defrosted. They actually arent to bad I have to admit, she has done well (clearly nothing subed). Coffee is consumed and FIL1 asks if we want to go with him into the paddocks, down to the dam to set some yabby traps and to find golf balls. I throw on his sneakers (coz I only brought thongs, note to self, bring sneakers next week) and we get going. The paddocks are steep. I figure its mount lofty training. My butt is sore today! This is generally what it looked like:

Photos dont do the justice. They are STEEP and slippery thanks to the dry grass! I made hubby ninja go first incase of snakes coz Im awesome like that!!

We get back to the house and FIL1 said he is going to make seafood sausages. Im already gagging. For xmas they bought themselves a mincer so they could make their own "gourmet" sausages. I cringe writing this. He has prawns already defrosted and starts to mince them. Im trying so hard to not dry reach whilst he is doing it. He insists I watch. Oh Lorna, the smell. It kills me. Than he things, ohh we will make chicken ones to. I said "are you going to clean that out?" to which I get told nah, it will be fine. I said "no worries if you want salmonella" to which I than get a lecture about how the bug has to be present in order for you to get salmonella. blah blah blah. I argue that its Russian roulette with food and that if Im vomitting tomorrow, Ill call him and put it on speaker so he can hear. He decides then maybe not to do it. Win for me! However because not enough prawns to make a decent amount of sausages, MIL goes looking in the freezer. Comes out with some fish (Lorna knows what it was!) and some squid. That goes through the mincer. She decides to add a zucchini because she thinks it will  be to dry otherwise....All this time, Im resisting the urge to bring up breakfast. This is what I had to watch (be prepared for grossness!):

BLURG *Vomit*

Needless to say, said sausages were GROSS as predicted. I took one bite and not so politely spat it in the bin. I was realllllll lady like, I tell you. MIL thought they were lovely but FIL1 said they were "okay" I reckon he hated em but didnt want to say. Hubby Ninja (or my "other hubby" if you were quick enough on facebook yesterday) and I had vegemite sandwiches.

(just looking at that picture makes me gag)

The afternoon really consisted of relaxing. Its so quiet up there and I crawled back into bed to read a magazine and generally ommm out. Ninja dog sat at the end of the bed looking out the window at the alpacas.

Look at this shot, I swear if there was an Australia's next top Doggy model, Ninja Dog would be a winner!

How gorgeous is she. Got the light in the right part of her face and all. Bless.

Nanna nap happened and when i woke, hubby decides that we are staying for dinner. Oh dear Lorna, I thought, no more smelly food. I volunteer to make dinner and cooked up a batch of Cupcake Quiches from 12wbt recipes. They were a hit with MIL and FIL1, hubby ninja really enjoyed also!  WINNER! (bigger than they were meant to be coz MIL insisted on making them in the pie maker!)

After dinner, we finally headed home to the concrete jungle. Thanks to all the concrete and heat, the house was hotter than hell itself! Sleeping last night proved to be not easy, even with the AC on and I think I may of managed about 5 hours if that last night. Today could be interesting! Poor people who work with me.

So all in all as you can see, its been "fun".

Apologies for the long post but I did warn you!

So tell me, how was your weekend?

Achievements for 2013

So like everybody, the new year comes and people go "okay, whats my resolution?". Personally, I don't like resolutions. Its feels to me like something you say at 12am and than its forgotten because of that hazy headache in the morning (mine was due to needing more sleep most like, not alcohomohol). Yes Im a nanna.

I am going to set achievements this year. Things I want to say YES I DID IT and tick it off a list! This way Im more inclined to stick to it. I beat myself up when I haven't made a goal in a said time frame (eg lose a 1kg a week, doesn't happen, I lose 500g, I than ninja kick myself and get all deflated). By having a list of achievements I want to have done by the end of 2013, Im giving myself time to get there.

Sooooo - here is my list of things I am want to achieve in 2013:
  1. Do 20 proper all-the-way-down pushups on my toes!
  2. Get to 70kg (preferably before I go away to Thailand in April)
  3. Learn beginner Thai and be able to say more than just Hello and Thank you
  4. Wear a bikini in Thailand
  5. Try not to kill hubby ninja as he rips walls out of our home to renovate

Im sure over the year this list will grow and I will update for all to see!!

What achievements do you want for 2013?

Baggy tops and angry sea urchins

Thank Lorna for baggy tops. Its just what I needed to look good without showing the water baby I have underneath. Im bloated like an angry sea urchin. Im feeling like a sumo and definitely not a ninja! Oh and my legs are still bitchin. Its been an entertaining day for everyone around as they watch me hobble, stumble (no alcohol consumed I swear - I wore the wrong shoes for tired legs) and generally have a bitch about anything that needed to be bitched about. Ive been a ray of sunshine I can tell you!

Just to share the horrid that was hidden, heres me in my workout gear today before taking my tired lactic acid filled legs for a walk - see baggy top covering my gut! Thanks Lorna! (also this is to be my 1 pic for january - more on that in a sec).

BEFORE (1)

Workout today was a 30min walk with the ninja dog and the following resistant band workout -

3 Rounds - 15 Reps of each

  • Chest Pull
  • Bent over row
  • Shoulder Raises
  • Bicep Curls
  • Overhead Tricep Extension.

Calories burned was a measly 221, however better none at all I say! We did enjoy our walk, although by the time we got to the shops, ninja dog was knackered, I think mainly coz of the heat. She is currently flaked on the lounge under the AC and is finding it hard to stay awake! I shared the rest of my water bottle with her whilst ninja hubby came and picked us up (we needed moo juice so I figured we would walk the 30mins to the shops instead of a 5min ride in the car).

Today for me has been pretty good food wise, I flexed my willpower muscle (coz its the only one not sore at the moment) and resisted chocolate. It was hard I tell you but I need a clean food day! After all the festivities and what not, Im really needing to rein it in and get back into the swing of getting my booty smaller. Calories consumed so far is 1124 but I need to boost that sucker up a few 100 calories so I may have some yogurt for desert. Water has nearly been 8 cups, Im about 1 short which Ill chugged shortly. All in all, Ive been a good ninja and I feel better and not like Im in a bad food coma. Food is medicine peeps!

Oh and I stewed some oldish nectarines to have on my breakfast tomorrow! Sorry that was random!

Alright back to the photo a day for January. A ninja on our facebook page has shared with us all and I want to share with you. If you want to join, make sure you comment below so I can follow :)

So tell me, what have you been up to today? Have you flexed your willpower muscle?

PS Im doing our menu now for the rest of the fortnight and goals for this year. Hopefully have sometime this week to share :)

Fun in the Sun

Welcome to 2013 with an ouch. Im currently walking around like a female John Wayne. Walking is kinda hard today and a handrail for my bathroom would be lovely! Thanks!

I welcomed 2013 from the back of my eyelids last night. Im a nanna I know. Was in bed by 11. I just couldnt say up for that extra hour. Im a very sad individual.

Today we ventured (I hobbled) to the beach with some friends and their son. Today was my last day of taking it easy. Tomorrow I vow to ensure to log everything I put in my mouth on here and on myfitnesspal. My promise is to kick the next 6 weeks in the arse and send some of my fat with it.

Any who, today saw us ventured to the beach and enjoyed some sun before it got really nasty, with our friends and their son, ninja dog also in tow.

It was lovely day and little man ninja makes for an entertaining adventure. We made sandcastles and he smashed 'em. They last all of 10 seconds before he would volunteer to "smash it".

He is such a hysterical little man! After castle smashing, we than went for a walk to collect shells along the beach. I think he may of collected half the beach in his bucket as with every shell, he would take a scoop of sand! Couldnt work out what that was about but hey was happy :P Makes your remember to enjoy the simple things hanging with a two and bit year old!

Lunch was on the grass, yes it was naughty fish and chips but we did make sure to have some salad and fruit as well. I ate half my fish and gave rest to hubby. Better on his bum than mine :) Sharing is caring remember!

After our fun in the sun, we all went our separate ways. My bed was calling and a nanna nap happened (I told you I was a nanna). Im now simply trying to combat some dehydration with some water and contemplating what to cook for tea (I havent done our weekly plan yet for dinners because of all our days out over the festive period) whilst walking around like a nanna. Man DOMs you suck.

Its back to work tomorrow for me. No rest for the wicked ;). With work comes the need to remember to drink water. One awesome ninja on our facebook page put this up which Im kinda surprised I have missed (being a worshipper of Lorna and all!).

If you are struggling with drinking 8 glasses of water a day, here is what Lorna Jane lives by:
  1. a glass of water as soon as you wake up
  2. a glass of water with her daily multi vitamin
  3. a glass of water with breakfast
  4. a glass of water when she gets to work (after her morning coffee)
  5. a glass of water with lunch
  6. a glass of water is kept on her desk throughout the day for sipping on
  7. a glass of water with tea
  8. a glass of water before she goes to bed

Ahh Lorna is brilliant. Such a good idea! Might try this tomorrow as well as setting goals and planning our food and my exercise for the rest of the fortnight. Will keep you posted!

WELCOME TO 2013 and I hope you all have a fantastic year!
